Ask Claude about the books. You confirm the change.
Connect Claude to one workspace. It can read each LLC, the rent roll, and the statements you already keep in Stateful. A journal, a coding, a rent payment, or a vendor is saved only after you confirm the preview.

How it works
Three steps. The books stay yours.
1. Connect
Paste the server URL in Claude. Sign in with your Stateful account and choose one workspace.
2. Ask
Ask for a property’s profit and loss, a balance sheet, outstanding rent, or the items still waiting for review.
3. Confirm
A change is shown first. Nothing is saved until you confirm that preview.
Sample prompts
Ask for the report. Name the LLC.
A balance sheet is cumulative through the date you ask for. Name the legal owner when you want one set of books.

What is the balance sheet as of today?
Which transactions still need review?
Categorize the latest uncoded bank transaction. Show me the coding and wait for me to confirm.

What Claude can read
The same statements you open in Stateful.
Profit and loss by property. A balance sheet for the LLC. Rent still outstanding. Capital accounts and the K-1 worksheet, which is a worksheet, not a filed return.

Setup
Add a custom connector.
Paste the server URL. Do not paste a client secret. The assistant registers itself and sends you to Stateful to sign in.
Use your Stateful email and password. The consent screen lists the legal owners you can already see. Choose one workspace. If you already use an authenticator, enter its current code. Stateful does not ask you to enroll one just to connect. One connection covers one workspace. Connect again to use another.
Preview, then confirm
Nothing is written until you say so.
Show the posting first
The assistant shows the proposed coding, journal entry, rent payment, or vendor. Say no, or ignore the preview, and nothing is written.
Posted records stay
A saved change uses the same posting rules as the app. Posted history is not deleted. A correction is a new entry.
No payments sent
The connector does not send a payment, pay a bill, or move money. It records what you confirm.
Permissions
What each scope does.
The consent screen grants only the access your role already has. An investor or viewer login can read. It cannot categorize, post, record rent, or add a vendor. Stateful does not grant an admin scope.
Permissions a connection may request

tax:read
Read capital accounts and the K-1 worksheet

vendors:write
Add vendors
Disconnect from Settings.
Open Settings → ChatGPT & Claude and revoke the connection. The assistant stops immediately. Revoking does not change the books, and it does not remove the connector from Claude or ChatGPT. Open ChatGPT & Claude settings.
Questions
Does Claude post to the books on its own?
No. A write is a preview, then a confirmation. If you do not confirm, the books stay as they were.
Which workspace does Claude see?
The one you choose on the consent screen. A second workspace needs a second connection.
Can I use ChatGPT with the same URL?
Yes. ChatGPT uses https://withstateful.com/mcp as well. Custom connectors there are available on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, with developer mode on.
What does the trial cost after 30 days?

Who do I write if the connection fails?
