Software for the way rental property is owned.
Stateful is a founder-led company. The software is for rental owners who hold property in a personal name, through an LLC, or with partners.
What Stateful is
Stateful keeps a separate set of books for each owning entity and can report income and expenses by property inside those books. The Investor plan also includes the rent collection, tenant portal, and landlord app with mileage tracking described on the features page. One subscription covers the entities and properties on the account. The pricing page states the price: $15 a month or $144 a year, with a 30-day free trial.
What Stateful is not
Stateful is software. It is not a bank, a property manager you hire, a bookkeeping service, a law firm, or a tax adviser. Reports need review. You and your accountant decide how a transaction should be treated. The privacy policy and terms say the same thing.
Who started it
Sundeep Babbar is the founder. Stateful started from a practical problem: even a few rentals get complicated when some are owned personally, some sit in LLCs, some are shared with partners, and a personal card sometimes pays a property expense. The aim is one place to work, without flattening those owners into one inaccurate set of books. Read the story.
The company is still early, and the product is in active development. There is a guide to keeping finances for several rental LLCs in one place, and a way to write the founder about the books you keep today.
